On 9th December 2019 the EA released 200 Barbel, 200 Chub, 300 Roach and 200 Dace from Calverton Fish Farm into the River Wey. This is as a result of the ongoing work that Byfleet Angling Association has been carrying out on one of our stretches of river to improve the habitat for fish. It is good to know that the EA recognise the investment the Association has made by allowing us to stock the river. This was the second stocking that this stretch has had the other being carried out during the previous winter. Hopefully these stockings will help bolster the existing fish populations and benefit the fishery in the years to come.
